This past week (from September 1 through the 8th) we were on vacation. 1600 miles in 7 days. We spent the 1st through the 5th in South Lake Tahoe and then the we drove to Salt Lake City and spent Thursday there. We left Friday morning and drove west, ending up in Reno, where we stayed the night. It was a nice trip. Jen's parents and Grandma came to Tahoe with us and her parents came to Utah with us as well. Keith's mom and Tom spent Sunday and Monday with us in Tahoe before flying back home.
Avery got to play on the beach for the first time. She love, love, loved the water and sand. She is our little fish, I worry about her liking her face in the water though. *sigh Guess we need swim lessons sooner rather than later! :) It was a nice relaxing trip in Tahoe, we wandered around the Heavenly Village and went through art galleries and spent time together. Our parents would watch Avery for an hour or two so we could spend time together, either walking around or at a casino. Hey, its Tahoe, gotta play roulette! Sunday night we all watched the fireworks (well, minus Tom and Ruth, they watched a sleepy tired Avery). It was a great show, 20 minutes of nonstop action and color and music. We went last year with the Warners and had a blast, so we've decided to turn it into an annual trip.
Avery was AMAZING on the ride to Utah. We would stop every two hours or so to change her and feed her and let her out of her seat for about 20 minutes. She was a real trooper, she would let us know when she was hungry so Jen could get her a bottle before she had a melt down (thank goodness for metal water bottles that keep water hot) and otherwise she played and sang and talked to us and just had a good time. It was harder on us because we had to stop every few hours to give her a break, we wanted to avoid overdoing it and letting her kick her legs and 'walk' with us seemed to keep her happy. She is such a great baby, Jen gets giddy and smiley just talking about her. LOVE.

4th of July
We spent 4th of July weekend in Lakeport, CA. We hung out at Keith's mom's house and at his friend Seth's. We watched fireworks from the boat on the Lake, it was awesome, except that we were literally surrounded by 1000's of gnats, it was gross!

We spent the day on the Russian River with our friend, Dan. We had a lot of fun just swimming and hanging out.
The McFarlands
Emily Jeanne Rawe married Kory Gene McFarland on Sept 20th, 2008 at her dad's home in Modesto. It was a beautiful wedding and the reception followed immediately after the ceremony. The yard was gorgeous. The groomsmen and the bridesmaids (Rachel, Laurie, and I) decorated Kory's rental car with shoe polish, cans, streamers, all sorts of stuff, it was great! The getaway vehicle became a very noisy spectacle!
The Lincolns Est. 2008
Keith's brother, Clement Lincoln (Clem) married Marisa Rubitz on August 9th at the Jefferson Mansion in Benicia, CA. We had a lot of fun at their wedding, Keith was a groomsman in the wedding. The night before they did a rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. The dinner was Venticello's on First St in Benicia, and it was the most amazing meal I've had in awhile! We hung out the Union Bar for awhile that evening after the bride and her friends and family went back to her hotel room for the evening. Keith and I hung out with Clem, Ron, Mike and his wife Asha, and PJ Racine. We had a blast at the bar and then wandering down the streets of downtown Benicia, we went to the beach for a bit, but it was windy and cold.
The wedding day dawned bright and clear and warm. The wedding didn't start until the late afternoon so we had time to hang out that morning at the Peddler's Fair, we got breakfast that morning with Clem, PJ, Hank, and Mia. The wedding was gorgeous, Marisa was one of the most beautiful brides I have ever seen. The wedding colors were light blue and light purple and the flowers were hydrangeas and roses, stunning. I loved the layout, the colors, the music, the atmostphere, the wedding was perfect for them, absolutely perfect. They make a wonderful couple and we wish them all the luck and a great future together.
Fathers Day 2008
We went to Sacramento for Father's Day afternoon. We met up with my family at Grandpa's care home in Elk Grove. We hung out there for awhile talking and taking pictures and I showed him my wedding pictures. He doesn't remember that I am married, or was getting married, and he doesn't remember Keith 1/2 the time, even though he's been around for 6 years, but its okay, we love him anyway! He is hilarious, still tells great jokes and stories, and he is as lovable as always. WE LOVE YOU GRANDPA!
49ers - Seahawks October 26, 2008
We went to the 49er - Seahawks game at Candlestick. We tailgated and BBQ'd with the Warners (Jared, Heath, Bryce, Keaton, Keaton's boyfriend Stewie), and a family friend Tad and his daughter and her friend. The Seahawks beat the Niners, of course. The Warners are from Washington and are born Seahawks fans and we like the Seahawks as well, so it was the perfect game for us to go to, even though I am a HUGE Eagles fan! We hung out for a few hours before the game and for an hour or so after the game, just talking and stuff, we hadn't seen them since our wedding in May!
